A deep dive into MyST, Part 2: The MyST-Parser, Docutils and Sphinx

This is a series of blog posts inviting you to join me in a little journey I have experienced in the last few weeks to figure it out a nice story for MyST inside the Nikola world.

In the previous blog post, we have identified some limitations in the MyST-Parser Python API and we started to understand why roles and directives were not supported by the API as we expected.

In this post, we will explore the machinery underneath the MyST-Parser with the goal to deepen our understanding and being able to propose some alternatives to provide the expected support.

Supporting RISE

Hi folks!

This is a little blog post requesting your support for RISE.

What is RISE?

RISE is a very popular extension for the Jupyter Notebook. It lets you show your notebooks rendered as an executable Reveal.js-based slideshow.

We have been working on RISE for several years and we are looking into its future and evolution.

How you can help us (with money ;-)

You can always help us contributing to the project with your time (through code, documentation, testing, showing, using it) BUT we are currently looking for a continuous flow of money so we can spend time on a daily basis with RISE.

Basically, you have 2-3 ways to fund RISE support and development:

Abandoning the oquanta domain name

This is a very short but important post!

As you probably know, this blog can be found as a subdomain of oquanta.info.

Starting Jan 23rd, 2019, I will be abandoning that domain name because GoDaddy is asking me unreasonable prices for renewal... and, actually, I am not using that domain except for the blog itself.

As you probably know as well, for several years, this blog has been hosted in gh-pages, so I will just use the default and expected URL provided by Github: https://damianavila.github.io/blog

Please, make sure to bookmark/save/link the correct URL if you want to keep reading about some of my stuff ;-)

Have a great start of the week!
